COAST LIFE FAMILIES CHILD & FAMILY HEALTH
Personalised, child health support for you and your family
Coast Life Families Child and Family Health aims to provide ongoing continuity of care for mothers and families.
Our Child Health service is personalised and relationship based, allowing the Child Health Nurse to get to know you and your family. We provide support and advice in our clinic, in your home and over the phone.
By choosing a package of care you will be supported by your own Child Health Nurse for one or two years. This includes a calendar of appointments as well as support via text whenever you need it.
We understand that each and every family is different, with their own values and beliefs that influence how you choose to raise your child. We will be there to celebrate and support you in those choices.

Child and Family Health Nurse
Jessica has been working as a Child Health Nurse and Lactation Consultant on the Sunshine Coast since 2012. Prior to settling on the coast Jessica has worked in paediatric hospitals in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne and with first time mums of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander babies in both Melbourne and Cairns. Jessica is passionate about supporting mothers and families to be the best they can be for their babies and children. Jessica believes that when a mother is heard and supported her child will thrive.
With a Masters of Child and Family Health Jessica provides family-centred support and advice for questions around feeding, settling, daily routines, development and maternal wellbeing. Jessica takes a partnerships approach to supporting families and knows that the mother, and family, are the expert in their own baby or child. “Every mother, baby, child and family is different, every family has it’s own unique strengths. It is my role to work with individual families to create a healthy environment for babies and children to grow and thrive.”
Jessica was fortunate enough to have both of her baby boys with Coast Life Midwifery so she knows the importance of continuity of care and being supported by someone who knows you and your family. Jessica is thrilled to be able to provide ongoing support for mums and families understanding the benefit of having “your own Child Health Nurse”.
“Being a mother, and having children, brings deep joy as well as complex challenges. These are best addressed by working with someone who can give you the space and support to find strategies that align with your own personal values and beliefs. There is no one parenting style that works for every mother and child.”
Jessica can attend to general health and development checks for infants and children as well as supporting families with a variety of questions or concerns around;
- Sleep and settling
- Feeding, including bottle feeding and weaning
- Becoming a family
- Introducing solids
- Baby safety
- Transition to motherhood
- Play and pre school learning
