Lisa McHugh

I am a Midwife and Lactation Consultant and joined Coast Life Midwifery in 2022 from the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne. I offer continuity of care for women birthing in hospital or home, Lactation Consultations and group education. 

I completed my Midwifery degree at the University of Canberra and I joined the Royal Women’s Hospital on its highly sought after graduate program, working across all areas of midwifery.

My passion is midwifery continuity of care, with a special interest in postnatal care.

As a continuity midwife, I love building relationships with women, sharing evidence-based information that empowers them to be the decision makers in their care. I always get such joy witnessing women journey into motherhood and watch their confidence as mothers grow as the weeks pass. It’s truly the best job in the world and a privilege to be a part of.

I became a certified Lactation Consultant in 2016 and worked as a Lactation Consultant and Breastfeeding educator in private practice and hospitals in Australia and the USA.
I love helping women to overcome breastfeeding challenges to achieve their personal breastfeeding goals. I am fascinated by and passionate about the benefits of breastfeeding and the constantly evolving evidence about the wonders of breastmilk!
