Registered Midwife
After a long journey studying midwifery, I finally became a registered midwife in 2020. I had the privilege of some brief causal work with Coast Life Angels and then Coast Life Midwifery for a short time before deciding to make the life changing decision to move to Tasmania to complete my graduate year at a lovely little regional hospital. However, home called to say it’s time to return to the Sunshine Coast, and to the dedicated team at Coast Life Midwifery.
I am a proud mother of five mostly grown children and following the five vastly different personal birth experiences, I understand the importance of an individualised approach to pregnancy, birth and postpartum, as each pregnancy/birth/baby is so different.
I have a passion for education and preparation, especially for the postnatal period. So much focus is on before and during birth but what about after? When you are suddenly responsible for a whole new little life?
I have done some postgraduate study in the NICU and special care nursery space and enjoyed my time working in the SCN, gaining the title of ‘the baby whisperer’. Similarly, I begun more graduate study in child and family health, truly enabling to support families further in the potentially tricky and challenging postpartum period.
Outside of work I enjoy staying active with running, hiking, adventuring and spending time with my husband, kids and fur babies in the glorious sunshine.
