Rather than meeting unfamiliar staff during labour, you’ll be cared for by the midwives who have supported you throughout your pregnancy. Having a trusted midwife by your side provides continuity, confidence and personalised care during one of life’s most significant moments.

Whether you’re hoping for a physiological birth, would like to use water immersion, prefer minimal intervention, or know that your pregnancy requires additional medical support, your Coast Life Midwifery team will advocate for your choices while working collaboratively with the obstetric and maternity teams at Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

Working alongside Sunshine Coast University Hospital
As endorsed midwives, we have admitting and visiting access to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, allowing us to provide continuity of care within the hospital setting.
Should your labour or birth require additional medical care, we work collaboratively with the hospital’s obstetricians, paediatricians and maternity team to ensure you and your baby receive the appropriate level of care while maintaining your relationship with your Coast Life Midwifery midwives wherever possible.
Our priority is always the health, wellbeing and safety of both you and your baby.

From your first pregnancy appointment through to six weeks after your baby’s birth, Coast Life Midwifery offers genuine continuity of care.
Your antenatal appointments allow us to build a trusted relationship, prepare you for labour and birth, and support your growing confidence as parents. Following the birth of your baby, we continue to care for your family with home visits, breastfeeding support, newborn assessments and guidance as you transition into life with your new baby.
